Google’s involvement in the Spanish startup ecosystem continues to increase. The Silicon Valley firm has brought Google LaunchPad to Barcelona, a week-long program which includes the participation of top notch mentors with the objective of helping startups across four core areas: product, UX, technology and marketing.
The program is taking place this week with the help of local accelerators itnig, Incubio, Conector, Tetuan Valley and also Venture Capital firm Caixa Capital risk.
During the week the mentors will do presentations on their areas of expertise and each of them will also work together with three to five startups in the aforementioned areas. List of mentors include Ian Collingwood, David Katz, Uri Shaked, Christopher Grant, Tommaso Canonici, Franc Carreras, Gaby Prado or Ran Nachmany.
This is the first time that Google LaunchPad takes place in Spain, following previous events in Tel Aviv, London, Berlin or Paris. In a statement, Google claims that choosing Spain for its next LaunchPad responds to the “increasing number of startups in the country and their high economic potential.”
