Sonata Software joins Microsoft’s top AI partner tier amid push toward autonomous enterprise systems

- October 7, 2026

Microsoft has named Sonata Software a recipient of its 2026–2027 AI Business Solutions Inner Circle Award, recognizing the company as part of the top tier of its global AI Business Solutions partner ecosystem.

The announcement highlights the growing role of technology partners as enterprises move from testing generative AI applications toward deploying AI within core business systems.

Sonata has maintained a relationship with Microsoft for more than three decades and currently works across Dynamics 365, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform and Copilot. Its technology portfolio includes AI-led modernization, AI-ready data, resilient AI operations and AI-led service delivery.

The company is also expanding its involvement in Microsoft’s agentic AI initiatives. Sonata recently joined the Copilot Agents & Platform Engineering Depth Partners program and became a Microsoft Frontier Partner, deepening its engagement with Microsoft’s Engineering and Product teams to advance and scale agentic AI.

For Microsoft, the partner ecosystem is becoming an increasingly important part of the development and deployment of AI-powered business applications. Niels Jensen, Microsoft AI Business Solutions ERP Lead in Enterprise Partner Solutions, said:

“Inner Circle partners represent our top selling partners worldwide. But it is more than a sales recognition; it’s a community of industry leaders who work closely with Microsoft to accelerate innovation, share experience and shape the future of AI-powered business transformation. The collaboration and commitment to customer success demonstrated by this community helps us advance the entire AI Business Solutions partner ecosystem around the world to deliver transformative business outcomes at scale.”

AI adoption increasingly depends on enterprise infrastructure

The development comes as companies face a different set of requirements when moving AI from experimentation into production.

A generative AI tool can operate as an interface for producing or analyzing information. An agentic system, by contrast, may need to access several enterprise applications, retrieve data, make decisions within defined parameters and execute actions. That creates dependencies on the infrastructure surrounding the AI model.

Sonata’s Harmoni.AI approach addresses several of those layers, including AI-led modernization, AI-ready data and AI operations. The company’s capabilities across Microsoft’s enterprise technology stack are intended to help organizations incorporate AI into existing technology and business processes.

The distinction becomes particularly relevant as businesses adopt AI agents. If customer information sits in one application, financial information in another and operational data in legacy systems, an agent needs a reliable way to access those sources and operate within the organization’s security and governance requirements.

Sonata’s expanded role within Microsoft’s ecosystem is aimed at that intersection between AI and enterprise technology. Its participation in the Copilot Agents & Platform Engineering Depth Partners program and Microsoft Frontier Partner status give the company deeper engagement with Microsoft’s engineering and product teams around agentic AI.

The company says it has more than 6,400 AI engineers and uses its Platformation™ framework to support modernization work across global markets.

As enterprise AI evolves from systems that generate responses toward systems capable of taking actions, the technology required to support those capabilities is becoming as important as the models themselves. Microsoft’s latest recognition places Sonata within that broader transition.
